想要成為英文通，首先就要積極充實英文字彙。經過語言學家長期研究發現，以下五個要訣，可讓您在短時間內，提升您在英文字彙學習上的效率：(我忘了哪裡找的，可能是某個網站摘錄，看過的大大請包含)
【要訣一】
Read, Read, Read! Most vocabulary words are learned from context. The more words you are exposed to, the better vocabulary you will have. While you read, pay close attention to words you don't know. First, try to figure out their meanings from context. Then look the words up. Read challenging material so that you will be exposed to many new words.
閱讀，閱讀，再閱讀！個人字彙中大部份的字是由閱讀文章而學來的。您接觸到越多字，字彙能力就會越好。當您閱讀的時候，要特別留意您所不認識的那些字。首先，試著從文章上下文中猜出它們的意思，然後再查字典。閱讀具挑戰性的題材，您就會接觸到許多新字。

Practice, practice, practice. Learning a word won't help very much if you promptly forget it. Research shows that it takes from 10 to 20 repetitions to really make a word part of your vocabulary. Therefore, as soon as you learn a new word, start using it. Review those words you have learned periodically to see if you have forgetten any of them.
